Basic Behavior Visuals

I use these visual regularly. I arrange them on a strip of colorful paper, laminate it, then attach it to student desks. This is super helpful for those kiddos who WANT to do the right thing, but genuinely forget what they're supposed to do! This is a super basic document with visual. In the near future, I will make some more detailed behavior supports for you all! Enjoy!

IEP Meeting Reminder Slips

Don't forget to provide a second notice... or third... or fourth... You get the picture! ;)

These are what I use for my required 2nd notices to parents for IEP meetings. I keep a stack of them ready to go. When prepping for the day, I fill out the ones that need to be sent home and staple them into student journals or slip them into homework folders. Parents really like this because it's easy to read and they can put it on their refrigerator to help them remember! ;) Plus, it's easy documentation! Win-win!

Daily Behavior Chart

BEHAVIOR! DATA! HELP!!! 

I use this kind of behavior chart for my special education students. This is also a great resource for other non-identified students who are struggling with behavior. I make enough copies for the week and the student takes it with them to every class on a clipboard. Not only has this chart been highly-successful among my caseload, it provides excellent behavior data tracking. It works well with Behavior Intervention Plans, tracking IEP goals, and can be easily modified. I uploaded the Microsoft Word version so that you can modify it to meet your student's individual needs! Enjoy! :)

Modified Science Vocabulary Notes

As a resource teacher, it's important to look for ways that you can adapt the general curriculum to meet the needs of your kiddos. Well, actually, this important for ALL teachers! I started to notice that when my 5th graders were taking down notes on vocabulary, they were really struggling to keep up. These modified notes include science vocabulary that is Common Core aligned. They are fill-in-the-blank and include visuals to help support memory. I usually print these off for my kiddos, as well as any others who are struggling or in the RtI process. The general education teachers at my school seem to appreciate it for those kids who need extra support! Enjoy! :)

Hello! This is my second attempt at a functioning teacher blog. I started one as a graduate student, but it is now time to refocus on the purpose behind my blog and start on a clean slate. This upcoming school year, I will be teaching special education as a resource teacher for grades 3-5.
